Description: Beach 10 at Presque Isle State Park was transformed into a Hollywood movie set as the big-screen production of "The Road" started its scheduled six-day shoot in Erie on April 24. The set itself was closed off to the general public. The stretch of road leading to Beach 10 was cordoned off intermittently throughout the day; especially when the film's director, John Hillcoat, had cameras rolling on Viggo Mortensen and his 11-year-old co-star Kodi Smit-McPhee. "The Road," an adaptation of Cormac McCarthy's Pulitzer-Prize winning novel, is a bleak survival tale about a father and son in a post-apocalyptic world.
